Deleting Softaculous Staging site killed my real site’s WP database

[ad_1]

Desperation drove me back to posting here after trying to limit my Reddit use cause, you know. Anyway. I saw a notification on my site’s control panel, that there was a WordPress update available on Softaculous. When I checked it was just a staging site, so I deleted it, as a I no longer use it. And of course, it seems to have somehow screwed or even deleted my real website’s WordPress database. So now I get Error establishing a database connection. I do have a restore but it’s old and I don’t know what effects it will have on my site, since it’s e-commerce. I also contacted Hostgator and they want to charge me 50 to restore from their backups. So is there a way for me to fix this? Is anyone familiar with Softaculous restore? There’s a checkbox for example where I can just restore the database, not the files and folders. What will happen if I do that, old database, new files and folders?
