Is there a way to change which user is the “parent” record for a number of “child” records without having to break all of the linkages first?
Our subscriptions/memberships are organization based, so we use the sponsor add-on to manage this, along with some of the recommended code snippets from the PMPro documentation.
We’ve now had a couple of instances where an organization wants to change the primary contact. As we can’t edit user names, it’s not quite a simple as just changing the information on the primary record, coupled with the person being replaced as the “primary” may not want to be removed, just wants to assign another as billing contact. (Side question – can we have both a billing and a primary contact?)
What is the best way to change the primary/parent record without having to unlink and then reassign all of the child records? Is it possible?
