Most of the featured images on my WordPress site pages are square (1:1 aspect ratio).
I understand that if I want to optimize the image preview on Facebook shares, the image used on the og:image URL needs to be cropped at 1.91:1 aspect ratio. The SEO plugin I use (The SEO Framework) can specify og:image tags and allows me to pre-crop to my liking at this ratio and everything works.
My question is: what if I want to retain the 1:1 ratio when sharing pages elsewhere, such as on messaging apps? Am I forced to use the 1:91:1 cropped image *everywhere* just because I’m accommodating Facebook’s requirements and refuse to let them auto-crop my 1:1 images?
Is it possible to include multiple og:image URLs and specify in the code which platforms will use which images?
