Disable access to “wp-admin”

[ad_1]

Hi all. I’ve been trying to find a way to prevent users fro getting into the back-end of my site, but even though I am able to hide the admin bar from the top of my pages, nothing seems to prevent someone from simply typing /wp-admin/ or “/profile.php/”in the url and entering that way. Is there actually any way to totally block access to the admin area?

Many thanks,

Sashimi.

  1. Install SG security plugin (free). Allows you to change /WP-admin/ to a custom URL and also incorporate 2-factor authentication

  2. You set up a user and password to access the admin area. If you are logged in, you are able to see the admin bar and can access the backend. Everyone else can enter the URL but is either blocked, or needs to enter credentials.

    So dont worry.
