Displaying Captions in the Lightbox view of a mla_gallery

[ad_1]

Thank you for your question and for the link to your site. You have many beautiful images and adventures there.

When you use MLA’s “Support for Other Gallery-generating Shortcodes” and the mla_alt_shortcode parameter MLA selects the items for the gallery, then passes a list of the item IDs to the other shortcode to compose the gallery. MLA does not play any part in formatting the gallery items or information such as captions. MLA does not have any control over the lightbox features provided by the alternate shortcode.

Many gallery-generating shortcodes provide a way of navigating forward and backward in their lightbox view. You will have to examine the documentation for the phnic_gallery shortcode to see what it can be configured to do. The same advice applies to displaying the caption text as well. Keep in mind this warning from the Settings/Media Library Assistant Documentation tab:

Note that MLA does not play any role in formatting the gallery display, so MLA-specific parameters such as mla_caption and mla_link_href are not processed.

I hope you are able to find features in the alternate shortcode that give you the results you want. I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have problems or further questions regarding MLA’s support of other gallery-generating shortcodes. Thanks for your interest in MLA.
