The site I inherited uses Woocommerce for the product pages, a plugin I’ve built/managed a few other sites with. I thought curious since it’s functionality that we don’t need, i.e. it’s overkill: we don’t sell online and our product line isn’t big enough to need a store plugin just for organization purposes, so I intend on shutting the plugin down and migrating the content to standard pages.
Is there another technical reason Woocommerce might have been used? Is there an SEO or other related benefit to using Woocommerce to display products that aren’t sold online?
Thank you much!

It’s just one of the easier ways to set up a product catalog. There are other options, but WooCommerce is a common one.

But you don’t have to do it that way. Especially if you don’t update products often or have a large product database.
