I have designed and published 8 websites, the problem is they are for fake businesses. If I am cold calling businesses, how many will realize or care that they are fake websites?

The websites are VERY realistic and have good domains and copy, but if you do a google search obviously no business pops up on google maps and if you call the number listed on the website it goes to the weather station number lol.
My business llc has a legit google business account and a couple of reviews.

I would prefer that they think they are real websites so that I can charge a good price. I don’t want them saying I should charge them less because “I don’t know what I’m doing.” I do know what I’m doing (1 year of experience learning and creating). Or flaking because of they aren’t real websites.

I NEED money very badly at this point.

I should mention, I’m doing both the design AND development of the website. I also include BASIC seo (yes I am competent in it).

What are your thoughts? Will clients notice and care? Or are they too damn busy to notice or care that my portfolio has fake websites?

I would say it would depend on how you are presenting the fake websites.
if your messaging is that “these are past clients I’ve worked with: ” or similar, I would say that is a red flag. If I was a business looking for a developer, and notice these are fake, I will assume you are trying to scam me.
If your messaging is something like: “here are some example of business website concepts ive designed: “, I think it’s ok, if I’m a potential client and I like the kind of site you’re making, I may consider hiring you.
As for your concerns: as a developer, you don’t worry about if clients say things like that. Rather, if they do, you wouldn’t want to work with them anyways. you charge the price you think you deserve and is appropriate for your skill set. Good clients wont bat an eye, especially if you’re delivering what is promised.
Live domain links aren’t necessary. Just take screenshots of the website and post them on your own website’s portfolio page.

Generally unrealistic, it’s more likely that they will pass over you because they don’t want to pay a good price to anyone.
