Hi @allindiandjsdrive,
Thank you for your message.
First, let me tell you how the plugin works:
When a browser tries to download an image file, the server checks if it supports the AVIF format (if enabled in the plugin settings). If so, the browser will receive the equivalent of the original image in the AVIF format. If it does not support AVIF, but supports the WebP format, the browser will receive the equivalent of the original image in WebP format. In case the browser does not support either WebP or AVIF, the original image is loaded. This means full support for all browsers.
The AVIF format is supported by almost 84% of browsers, and the format by almost 97% of browsers. This means that the original images can potentially be displayed on 3% of browsers – but this applies to the entire Internet. Probably no one will need the original images on your site, so I don’t think it makes sense to compress them. It’s worth leaving them, because it affects the security of your website – you can always uninstall my plugin and restore it to its original state. But when it comes to compressing them, I wouldn’t do it.
Typically, images converted to WebP are 50% lighter than the original images. Images converted to AVIF are an additional 50% lighter than WebP images.
I checked and on your website you are using the Jetpack plugin and the images are loaded from the i0.wp.com domain. This means that using any image optimization plugin won’t work for you as the files are served by Jetpack’s CDN server. If you want to use any plugin, you should disable image optimization in Jetpack settings. You can do it in the WordPress panel: Jetpack -> Settings -> the Performance tab -> Speed up image load times.
Best,
Mateusz
Thank you for your clarification. I have disabled the cdn from jetpack.
I’m also using smush plugin (free) to optimize images. Can I use it at the same time? Or no need if your plugin compresses images.
@allindiandjsdrive Why would you want to use several plugins for the same thing?
No. I do not want to use more than one. Just one to know: does your plugin compress and server with webp format.
@allindiandjsdrive Please read my message I wrote to you at the beginning.
I Got my answer .Thank You
