Do I need to use Apache mod_security on my WP website if I’m planning on putting cloudflare in front of it?

[ad_1]

Just asking because mod_security is a web application firewall (WAF) and cloudflare has a WAF already. I’m not completely sure if mod_security adjusts firewall rules or blocks somehow by ip address? If it does block by ip address then wouldn’t that affect all visitors to my site since their traffic will be coming through cloudflares ip addresses? I’m thinking that mod_security might just end up blocking cloudflare and blocking all of my visitors.

Can’t find the answer by googling it.
