  1. I’ll tell you what I do in most cases when I’m not sure about something.
You first figure out what your needs are. Then you search for its alternatives (in your case search for “WooCommerce alternatives”). After you’ve made a decent list, start researching all the features and their reviews, most have pros and cons in the articles you’ll find on Google.
Then it’s up to you to decide which fits your needs most.
This is valid for everything, not just WordPress.

  2. If you don’t need a full blown online store you can use the checkout options built into popular form plugins like Forminator or others.

  3. If you’re talking about web design services I would never sell them through an online cart. Whatever pay gate you use it’s going to take a percentage which quickly becomes significant when selling something for a few thousands. I just send invoices with my IBAN for direct transfer.

  4. Yes, using WooCommerce is a good option for selling services with pricing plans.

To have purchase buttons on a pricing table go directly to the checkout page, you can use the WooCommerce “Direct Checkout” feature or a plugin like “WooCommerce Direct Checkout” to streamline the process.

This is a convenient and widely-used practice for service-based businesses to simplify the purchasing experience.
