Do the number of images we hold in our media library have a negative impact on performance even when not used ?

Let us assume, I have over 200 images in my media library,
Let us also assume that throughout my WordPress site, I only use 50 of those images

Question: Do the images not being used in the media Library have an impact on the speed of my site ?
Also is there any way to know which images are being used and to get rid of the ones that are not being used ?
(For some reason. I always end up with 3 or 4 copies of each image )
