I think this might be an obvious no-brainer, but just wanted to double check.
If I were to move up to the Premium plan (wordpress.com hosted), I notice one of the perks is "free domain for one year".
Do you have to use that?
I would be content to just use the standard site.wordpress.com type structure permanently and would prefer not bothering wasting money on a custom domain.
Just wondering, why would you not want to use your own domain?

Keep in mind that if you do go with *.wordpress.com, it’s fairly tricky to move to a proper domain later on and keep your SEO ranking.
