Sorry if this is a stupid question, I’m having to teach myself all this.
So my plugin auto updates aren’t updating. This is the error I receive:
*Automatic update overdue by 2 months. There may be a problem with WP-Cron.*
This is displayed on the plugin section where the auto updates *should* be updating, but they’re not.
I’ve also noticed that for the passed couple of months, the snippets that I had added into functions.php are no longer working. I can’t save changes to the file anymore within WordPress and receive this error:
*Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.*
I can save within Siteground’s file manager, but the previous snippets I created still aren’t working, and new snippets aren’t either.
So do these two issues relate or is it just a coincidence?
How can I fix them?
I’m using Siteground as my host provider and they couldn’t help.
