I have been working in wordpress for a little while now and have managed a couple dozen sites over the last 5 years – so I am fairly competent and capable of maneuvering through a site.
I recently took over a massive site and am very excited about it, but I have seemed to hit a snag on editing some of the content. I am hoping that someone can guide me through this process.
So on the dashboard on the left hand side in the navigation (where the **posts,media, forms, pages, comments, etc.** is located) there is an option titled **LEADERS** \- this is where the companies hierarchy content lives; CEO, COO, Directors, Legal, and so on. Recently the business wants to change an aspect of this section to remove one of the fields. How it is listed now – Photo, name, position, and location. When you click on the photo it opens up with a drop down with a bio of the person. The business wants to get rid of the “location” option because it has been added in the drop down Bio.
The problem with this is that the **Location** field has been indicated as a mandatory field to be filled out and wont let me publish the revision if left blank. I have used a little trick and filled the space with **\ ** for the time being to get by so that the page could be published and nothing shows on the public facing content.
This menu option was built for the company so I know that editing the rules of this section are somewhere – where can I find either the code or the editing options for something like this?

It depends which plug-in is adding that field. If the custom code then you can easily modify it.
Or you would still need to play with code. Maybe I can take a look at the code.
