Know some html/css/js. Want to work the WP way? Need to let clients edit page content and make posts? GeneratePress and Blocks.
Understand html but don’t want to write any and need very pretty pages? Want to be able to let clients edit only some content? Bricks.
Need more than pages – like conditional content and clever stuff? Need finer control of what clients can edit? Oxygen.
Don’t want to understand about websites, just want to make them? Stuff letting clients edit pages, they can do posts and be happy about it? Neve, Astra, Brisky, Kadence.
Don’t want to learn anything but would love to get led into a unique way of working that’s not even a WP workflow and will trap you in an ever more labyrinthine nightmare of ‘code free’ complexity that is eventually 100x more work than just learning a little code… only to get sites that are all different yet somehow all feel exactly the same? Happy to leave clients with an incomprehensible mess they can’t understand or edit so that you can charge for every tiny change? Get a deep sense of joy whenever an update breaks your website? Need plugin-conflicts to be a part of your daily life? Treasure the ironic delight of realising you still need to know code for anything even vaguely non-standard? Elementor or Divi.
