Elementor is slowing entire website down.

[ad_1]

Hello, I use Elementor for my ecommerce website. At first it was great with all the features it has and compatibility with woocommerce. However as soon as I launched site, its slow as a snail. I have ruled out server side issues, optimized media and code but still, website is heavy and slow. I am now considering to move away from Elementor and I want to use different page builder. Any recommendations? Also what will be protocol for changing page builder? Should I turn on maintenance mode for days? Cause I am getting visitors.

  1. Did you run your site through pagespeed.web.dev? What does it say? It should help provide some clues as to what is slowing down your site.

  2. What testing/investigation have you done? PageSpeed Insights? You need to figure out WHY it’s slow before you do anything.

  3. Elementor is heavy, usually what I recommend, especially with woo and elementor (I presume you use woo kinda?) is checking if your server isn’t bottleneck. They take a lot of resources and are actually pretty heavy to sustain, would check that first.

  4. So many comments, none asking the right question.

Do you have any caching on the site?

    – If **yes**, then it might be a slowdown caused by hosting (Elementor does use a lot of resources). If your hosting is based on cPanel or DirectAdmin, check the “Resource Usage” menu (NOT the sidebar), you should have an warning there 🙂

    – If not, that’s your answer. Put some caching on it 🙂

  5. The issue is not Elementor but rather how you use it. If you comment a link I might be able to tell you what the issue is.
