Elementor not loading with themes or if any new plugin is installed.

[ad_1]

Hello everyone, I'm new to building websites and I recently purchased the domain and hosting from GOdaddy.com. I got a starter hosting package and installed wordpress through the cpanel.

Then while no plugin is installed the page block editor works and even after I install wordpress without any other plugin the site seems to load and I'm able to edit things.

Now, let's say I want to install a starter template kit or if I install a theme for eg: Astra and then I try to edit a page. It just get's stuck on the load page.

I tried everything from deleting cache and cookies to even doing a full reinstall. Nothing seems to work. Please help me out guys….

  1. Ok, so there are a few things worth noting….

    1) There are a few parts to a WordPress site but two main ones are the theme and the page editor. The theme controls your header and footer and how you work with WordPress in the backend and the page editor is what you’d use Elementor for. That you access by going to pages > edit with Elementor (once Elementor is installed and activated)

Being very new to building websites, I think you would do best with a starter template. Like you mentioned, Astra provides a lot of free starter templates. Once Astra is installed **and activated**, you will have the option to pick the starter template you want while going through the startup wizard. The setup wizard will be your friend here, definitely use it.

[Here is a step by step guide on how to install and set up Astra.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nqiKQA0-e8s)

    2) WordPress comes pre installed with their own page builder called Gutenberg so my guess is that is what you are seeing a lot. If you want to use elementor to edit a page, there should be an option at the top of the screen that says something like “edit with elementor”.

    3) A lot of the time people don’t realize their home page needs to be configured to actually be their home page. From your WordPress dashboard hover over “Settings” and then select “reading”. At the top you should see an option to set what page you want your home page to be. Set it and then click the blue “save changes” button at the bottom of the screen.
