Elementor: Should we use it?

[ad_1]

Hi everybody, i just read a post here on Reddit published 2 years ago saying to not use elementor because it slows down your website with unused js/css.

I would like to open a discussion about this, what’s your opinion? Should people use Elementor/theme builders on their website?

  1. Look into Bricks Builder. That’s the current favourite flavour amongst page builders.

  2. It really depends on the scale of the projects and the money. We use it for small scale sites with low budget and no fancy requests.

  3. Oh this is a very controversial topic lol.

I can see the reasons against it. But at the same time, we have no problem getting all green speed scores with elementor when paired with either wp-rocket or nitropack.

Our clients elementor websites are ranking just as well or better than their competitors and for some keywords even above webmd and healthline.

For us the ease of use makes it worth having elementor for our site and our client sites.

Sure there are faster and better options out there. But for us, the small percentage speed improvement (and less js/css) that can be had with less intuitive backends, doesn’t make sense for us.

Now, if you would have only experienced developers touch the backend, and/or you are in an incredibly high competition niche where every potential ranking factor matters, then the situation would be different.

  4. Most of us build websites for one reason, to make money. Its rare you can do what is ‘best’.

Use it if you make more money doing so. Personally I do use it a lot, but neither because I want to or think its best practice, but because clients & colleagues don’t have the skills to design & build sites without it.

It is perfectly possible to build a fast site that uses Elementor, it equally possible to make one that runs like shit too.

The real issue with page builders it not the bloat but what happens when they become redundant.
