Embeddable content.

[ad_1]

Hey there fellow WordPressers,

I manage multiple WordPress websites for my employer and develop either custom themes, plugin’s or simple function to extend or modify them.

We’re constantly finding ourselves in a position where either we need to embed a page / post / Elementor template… Etc of one of the websites in the other or make it embeddable for external partners and I find myself going through loops to hide the header, remove unnecessary scripts / styles, verify the embedding domains… Etc

I was thinking there has to be a better way to embed part or full pages on another websites without all unnecessary parts, scripts and header with only what is needed for given part while having some sort of security measure like specifying allowed domains (maybe also some kind of verification key?).

I’m open to all tips & suggestions and thank you in advance.

  1. Use javascript snippet to embed content from api endpoint. create a universal endpoint with parameters. e.g post id, full content / snippet or whatever.

long ago I created similar function for a client. Created an embeddable js file with all the css and html markup and functions that get catch the data from endpoint and render it. The embed code was available at page using copy/paste clipboard function.
