There are a ton of “freemium themes”.
But I am looking for the completely free and open source themes. Those that don’t have a pro version, a plugin with more features or a premium subscription. I don’t care if they are minimal.
Do they exist?

Why does it matter if there’s a pro version? Themes like Astra, Hello, etc are fine to use, even if they have Pro versions.
Build your own then you’ll own it double quick.
Anders Norén has some awesome themes design wise, I love his minimal style. As for your question, most of the block themes in the WordPress directory are free. Are you looking for anything specific?
