Event details in code tags with Twenty Twenty Four

In my close-to-vanilla setup, the details of the events (time, location…) is shown in console font type, as the span’s are embedded into <code> tags. This is not showing in the html source, but must be added by some client-side scripting.

This is on a new WordPress install with WordPress 6.4.1, using the new Twenty Twenty Four theme without any custom javascript or CSS. I’m not sure what script is adding this, but definitely not a custom script I wrote, as I haven’t added one yet.

Is this a bug in VS Event List, or in the Twenty Twenty Four theme?
