Facebook is screwing up URLS linking to my wordpress site (?fbclid=) how can I remedy this?

I’m posting as my business page on Facebook. When I write a Facebook post which includes a link to my wordpress site Facebook always alters the link and adds a lot of numbers and letters to the end of the URL. It seems to always start with **?fbclid=** and goes on from there.

The problem I am having with this is that the URL that appears in the Facebook post then doesn’t work and when users click the link they get a 404 error.

For example I make a post on Facebook with the link [www.mysite.com/howdy]) and Facebook then automatically adds “**?fbclid=IwAR11r5-IgJkUGCtdBzA5KlmE3J74TL-ZHkyd3BvthDWCJB4cYkTd-QYbscU**” immediately after the link, so it then changes the link to become [www.mysite.com/howdy?fbclid=IwAR11r5-IgJkUGCtdBzA5KlmE3J74TL-ZHkyd3BvthDWCJB4cYkTd-QYbscU]).

The original links I am posting to are sometimes 301 re-directs (that work, I’ve checked) and sometimes they are the direct URL. It has the same result either way.

It’s done this for a while and it’s super annoying. I own multiple businesses and it does it with all of the links – posted from desktop, mobile or third party social media management. All sites are wordpress based. I noticed it doesn’t happen with other links on other businesses pages.

How can I correct this? Is it something I can change within wordpress? I’ve checked over Facebook settings and cannot find any answer to this.
