Favicon doesn’t appear on my website tab however it does appear in my dashboard, how can I fix this?

Hey guys I have a WordPress website I added a favicon but it only shows up when I’m logging into my dashboard but doesn’t appear on the tab when I browse into my website, instead I only my domain host logo.

Anyone knows how I can fix that?

  1. Check through FTP if the favicon.ico file is present in your root directory html_public

  2. Try to clear cache in your browser. Otherwise, it’s possible that your theme is not correctly handling favicon files. You can install e.g. WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin, and using it set favicon(and other sharing elements).
