What issue does this solve? What ‘options’ exactly?
I’ve never had any SSL issue in a very long time ever since my server management panel handles SSL certificate creation and renewal (Let’s Encrypt).

same to be fair but I have had clients with mixed content which causes the site to report that it’s not safe in the browser. The aforementioned plugin sorted this out.
Not seen this issue for a good while though and was mostly caused when images were hosted on a CDN without SSL.
By example
Mixed content fixer
Security Headers
Disable “Everyone can register”
Uploads’ map – Prevent execution of code in the public ‘Uploads’ directory
Hide your WordPress version
Disable directory browsing
Disable user enumeration
Disable XML-RPC

So, the key problem to fix that’s related to SSL is the “mixed content” issue?
