Ok, I am very new at this. As in last week I had never used wordpress so, yes, things are a bit of a mess but I have managed to get it running to a reasonable level. My issue and I have googled and found people with similar issues but none of them have fixed it for me.
When I add an image and set it as a featured image it displays perfectly on the home page (1:1 aspect is what I want), but when I click on the image to go to the post the image displays cropped top and bottom. I also noticed that in the uploads folder it makes 10 – 11 copies of the image all at different sizes, some are 1:1 and others are cropped. I played with a few themes and plugins so I would say I messed up the system a little. Does anyone have ideas on how to fix it?
