Fighting Spam

[ad_1]

For one of the sites I help manage, we have received a ridiculous amount of spam signing up for our website. I am using captcha and have it set as strict as I possibly can. I also have the free version of wordfence installed. Is there anything else I can do to help combat this? For the subscriber roles all permissions have been turned off so they cant see anything as far as I can tell. It’s just a massive nuisance so far. Any help pointing me in the right direction is appreciated.

  1. I had a similar problem and what I did was basically create a new contact page and delete the old one, the bots were gone instantly. I had a captcha and wordfence installed as well, but they weren’t of much use.

  2. Are you using Cloudflare? Their bot fight mode and firewall rules may help you filter them out.
