I created the Flat Stanley Project in 1995 and have been running it ever since as an html site. Last week i played with BuddyPress plug-ins and a few days later Bluehost took down the site until i removed the malware. Am I at a higher rate of risk using WordPress than an html site? Except no, because everyone else has WordPress online. What are the secrets to fending off malware?
Thanks

Reputable hosting, minimal reputable plugins, a well supported theme, cloudflare or something similar and attentive updates are basically the answers to reducing the likelihood of malware. Im sure others can chime in with more items to add to the list. A solid backup solution is a good safety net. But you won’t be able to reduce your risk to zero on any platform. 🫤
Oh no. Not the flat Stanley project.
