I just noticed, that there have been so many conversations about FluentSMTP and I am happy to see all the positive feedback.
I built FluentSMTP around 3 years ago and decided to make it free and open-source. We got a few great contributors on our GitHub Repository and now it’s a community project.
I would love to hear your feedback or ask me anything about FluentSMTP or Fluent\* products.
By the way, I just released an awesome update of FluentSMTP. Now you can enable to send plain text emails along with HTML email on the fly (~multipart/alternative~ mime type).

I’ve probably used your product to 100+ sites since discovering it so I want to say a bit thank you!
It works great, the built-in logging is God-sent and even the re-attempt of previously failed emails. I’ll continue preaching about this as it just does everything one needs for email deliverability and does it well.
I use FluentForms and FluentSMTP on all my clients sites. I have no complaints. SMTP has some cool features that are “premium” features on other SMTP plugins.
My one request would be to integrate FluentForms with Bricks the way you did with Oxygen. I know Bricks has built in form but it does not compare to FluentForms and I like being able to style it in the builder.
Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the plugin, it really is one of the few that doesnt nag about premium version. I really love it.
Suggestion: when I migrate site from dev to prod using AIO Migration Backup, smtp connection details are needed to be configured again. It would be luxury we don’t deserve if they’d persist.
I’ve recently started using Fluent SMTP because it offers functionality the other 2 main plugins charge for, for free; namely M365 integration and the ability to have a backup connection. Been really happy with it so far. Past delivery reports is great too.
We use Gravity Forms, but we’re kinda tied into it because we have a license and use it on about 70 websites, otherwise we’d give Fluent Forms a go for sure after our experience with Fluent SMTP.
Appreciate the time and effort you guys put into it.
Great plugin, use it everyday!
I couldn’t see myself using any other version than FluentSmtp on all of my sites, simple and effective, what more could you ask for!
Thanks for your efforts. I moved 30+ websites to fluentsmtp. Few months ago and never looked back.
Thank you for your efforts. I switched to Fluent Forms from CF7 a couple of years ago and try to use it on all my clients sites. Like others I appreciate the free versions you offer and if I have a client with added requirements and budget, I’ll get them to use your Pro Editions.
I’ve not had to use FluentSMTP that often, though it’s been handy of late with a couple of clients that forward forms to Yahoo addresses and it has worked really well!
I recently discovered these two plugins and made them part of my baseline. I love the inclusion of the form statistics and there are so many features you guys include for free that others charge for, it’s a no-brainer. In fact, I’ll probably purchase FluentForms pro even though I don’t necessarily need the pro features – just so I can support you guys.
Great plugin! Thanks for all your work!
I use it with Brevo. Every time i install it on a new website and send the 1st test email i get the account suspended. Not sure if there is something you can consider or if it’s strictly related to Brevo.
Other then that it’s a great plugin.
Keep the plugin clean, simple and open source. Appreciate your work and really enjoy your plugin.
I have a client who is having issues connecting their Microsoft account to fluentsmtp – not sure what the issue is. He believes it’s because his setup is using the microsoft graft api. Do you have any insight as to why?
I have fluentsmtp, forms, and crm on a client site. We love it! I do wish yall had better integrations for SMS.
I recently tried using fluentsnippets for all of my sites but compared to codesnippets, it doesn’t support multisite and I find it a hassle to add some multisite-level snippets to every single site individually.
I usually have all the snippets multisitewide. But it isn’t supported yet.
Other than that, I find the idea of storing in files pretty aligned to my fundamentals too.
Hi! The only reason we haven’t fully swapped to FluentSMTP is because we do a lot of multisite and unless something has changed (looking at the FAQ I don’t think it has), it needs to be configured per subsite.
Sorry to ask a basic question, but when would I want to use FluentSMTP? I am currently decided between MailChimp and Brevo (formerly sendinblue) to handle both a newsletter and individual emails to potential guests. How would your plugin factor in?
Thank you for teaching me!
How well does Fluent SMTP deal with large-volume newsletters.
I currently have a plugin that sends emails to our site’s members. Currently to avoid PHPMail problems and load issues we push it out to Perl back-end process that picks up requests every 10 minutes.
Would you recommend moving to Fluent? Would it be necessary to pipe it to SendGrid/O365 instead?
Was it me you saw recommending the plugin a few times ?? Haha
You’re doing a great community service from one dev to another.
Edit: what really sells me is the free base non smtp options. So many small sites just need a good ole aws api integration with a quick mail plugin.
I love your plugin. I work on quite a few wordpress sites (more than 100s, less than 1000s). Fluent SMTP is the go to. All smtp plugins work in my experience, so free logging pushed yours to be the go to. It also has led to a positive view of any additional fluent plugins, since you have good karma because of the free logging.
Great plugin.
Props to you for enabling me to make a bunch of personal sites DMARC compliant by way of FluentSMTP. You rock!
Does Fluent offer any non-profit discounts? I am currently using another highly customizable form competitor and haven’t tried fluent as of yet. Also can forms be embedded in forms? I know repeating fields are possible from what I read but I didn’t eee anything about ‘nested’ or ‘child’ forms.
When will the fluent booking integration be available in the Zoho Flow platform?
We wanted to store booking data in Zoho Billing
We are successfully able to integrate Fluent Forms and Fluent CRM in Zoho Flow but booking is not there.
