Flushing permalinks

[ad_1]

Hi, novice user here. I keep getting an email from WordPress that says I have a fatal error with my theme (Divi). I don’t see any visible errors when checking my site. It says the error was caught on the login page but I am not having any trouble logging in on that page. When I look at my site health page there are no critical issues but it does list a recommended improvement for security. It says my authorization header is missing and the suggestion is to flush the permalinks. However when I click the link to flush the permalinks a warning message shows up that says:

**WARNING:**
Changing your permalinks settings can seriously impact your search engine visibility. It should almost *never* be done on a live website.

So naturally I am hesitant to proceed because my site returns well in search engines. I am confused as to what I should do here. Should I flush them still? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if I am asking this in the wrong sub. TIA

  1. Just go into permalinks and press save on them. Ignore the warnings, you’re not changing anything you’re just hitting save. That will flush the permalinks.

Step 1: In the main admin menu find “Settings > Permalinks”.
Step 2: Scroll down if needed and click “Save Changes”.
Step 3: Rewrite rules and permalinks are flushed.
