Follow Blog widget replacement

[ad_1]

The site I’m replacing was created as a [Wordpress.com]) site. It used the Follow Blog widget to send a Monthly News blog page as an email to subscribers automatically as soon as changes were published (once a month). It seems the widget was only available under WordPress hosting, and in any case it’s been taken down now by WordPress.

I’ve been looking for a plugin to replace that functionality, but everything I can find only sends notifications, not the full page. There was a way to do that using Mailchimp, but it’s not available in the free version anymore.

Anyone have any ideas how to accomplish this?

  1. So this is something you want to do for edits to the page? Not for a new post? If so, I don’t know what is available as a plugin with that functionality. Not to say that there isn’t something, just that I don’t know of it.

Mailpoet is a pretty nicely integrated newsletter setup for WordPress: [https://www.mailpoet.com/])

But that’s more of a standard newsletter.

There are also some subscription options that come with Jetpack: [https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/])

But it specifically says that it won’t notify for pages or updated posts.
