Former boss wants me to write documentation (wordpress site)

[ad_1]

Got a call friday and was asked if i had 2 mins to talk.
I used to work on his wordpress site, which is now given to new people he has hired, since I got a full time job. this was a 1 day a week job. It is a basic website, doesnt have much to it.
The call was that the new guy wanted documentation for the site, and to me this is strange.
He has all the code, he has the child theme and the parent theme, as well as access to everything he needs access too.
His biggest issue seem to be that he doesnt find the code for the call to action buttons.
It is as simple as that, and in my autistic’ish brain, if you cant even find the code to the buttons… are you the right person for this job….?
I also told former boss I would come back in when they need to launch it, since the new people he hired is not used to wordpress at all and seemed like they were new to programming all together.
(I had to show Filezilla, local server, how to download wordpress etc.)
It is a basic wordpress site, I dont think documentation for that is necessary or common ?
Im wondering if this happens to other people, do you write documentation for a wordpress site ?

How would the best way be, to handle this ?

(I would get paid 15$ an hour for doing this, I really dont want to. I have so much else to do that is not worth 15$ to spend this time on it)

  1. Tell them your hourly rate is now $100 per hour. Take it or leave it. And they guy they hired is not able to do the job.

$15 is criminal unless you’re in a 3rd world country.

  2. I’ve actually seen many people like that.

They are doing something and know nothing about it.

Not related to WordPress but I sometimes help people with assignments and stuff. My job is to write the code and give it to them. Making it work for them is not at all my job.

Most of those people don’t even have the required apps on their slow ass computer to run the apps and want me to do everything on any desk.
