Hello WordPress Friends,
i am working as a webdesigner freelancer and often use WordPress. For a private project i want to use a free WordPress Theme and remove the copyright information from the Theme in the footer. Is it allowed to remove the copyright information of free WordPress Themes when there is no option in the settings to remove that? I would remove the copyright information with PHP.
Currently it is about the following WordPress theme:

It’s *probably* not allowed, but the only way to know for sure is to read the license for the theme.
Edit: Or ask the theme author’s permission.
It depends. Check the theme license or ask the author
Their licence is GNU, so yes you can remove that.
Not a big deal, but removing the licence and readme files inside the theme is technically not allowed.
