GDPR Consent Tracking and (Google) Analytics

[ad_1]

Hello, i am currently trying to get (google) Analytics working on our wordpress site – for consent tracking we are using complianz but for some reason the tracking is just not working properly – i guess because for some stupid reason complianz has the most hidden cookie banner (and disables tracking completely when it’s set by the browser do not track field or whatever ios safari uses).

The whole thing is so super confusing and I do not want to track what users wear in their bedroom, just need proper tracking of how people navigate the website and where i can improve usability.

For some reason – whenever i visit the webpage – either if i have “Respect the do not track” Option from the browser disabled, have all 3rd party cookie addons disabled – i just don’t get the cookie banner to accept/deny cookies, just the option to customize the consent in the lower right corner.

I am super frustrated about all this. If i do GDPR compliance properly i get no-meaningful statistics for my business, this can’t be.

PS: I checked google tag assistant, and everything works properly, cookies and events are sent, i even added a custom add\_to\_cart event because i use ajax to add products to the cart but nothing. It doesnt show up in any statistics.
