I have been using Laughing Squid cloud hosting for many years and lately load times have been very slow and I am getting many 404 errors and “Please come back later.” errors which resolve after a short time but have been frequent. When things do load I usually count about 5-9 seconds before my simple home page loads. I feel this is causing me to loose business on my Woocommerce store.
I would consider switching to their managed wordpress service but I am nervous about the fact that they automatically update wordpress 24 hours after a release as this might cause plugins to stop working.
Is there any other competitively priced service I should consider switching to that offers easy migration and allows me full control over the updates and has better reliability?
Its hard to compare because it seems most blogs out their are just paid sponsors shilling for their affiliated web hosting provider.
Any real world advise would be appreciated

I’m glad to see you understand everything you see on google is just affiliate marketing shills, I recommend namecheap if you are under a million users a month or for high traffic use AWS. I also recommend wp rocket it helps a lot for page speed and cloudflare for security and CDN
