Plugin only works with images

I’m trying to use the free plugin for the first time, and for some reason, the Chat doesn’t produce any response. It only works when I change the setting to “Image”.

When I select “Chat,” I can see the payload in the POST has empty values for the apiKey, but I’m not sure if this is just to protect the key.

API Response:

What could be causing this?
