I can’t stand it! For your information I’m a content writer and work on a client’s site regularly. However I’m not a tech and don’t like messing about with the site…but he mentioned how horrible Cornerstone is and gave me the go ahead to ditch it.
However…when I go to create some new content which I do by duplicating an existing page (because it has a local map which we need) I don’t get any options other than editing with Cornerstone.
It does offer me a visual or text view but there’s visible code in there which makes it difficult to see what I’m doing.
How do I remove Cornerstone and have a more basic way of editing please?

We have been using Cornerstone for a couple of years, as we didn’t know (or know) for a better option… until we discovered Elementor and Astra/Neve themes. They are our basic sites’ building tools at the moment, watching how Full Site Blocks editing / Gutenberg is progressing.
What we did to replace Cornerstone on all of our sites is to redesign sites with changed theme and page builder, but be careful to do it properly as you can damage a lot your website’s SEO:

On a technical side – we did all Cornerstone replacements with cloning/duplicating our websites via All in one WP Migration plugin to subdomains on our main domain and then, when site is rebuilt, migrate it back to production domain.
