Hello,
I have already implemented gtag from GA4 in my wordpress site. However, I have the problem that my site is not tracked properly. I have contacted Google Analytics support and received this answer:
“We have checked the tag on the website and found that the tag is triggered but a message is displayed about an invalid or missing account ID.
We also checked the report identity in the property settings and found that there are 2 inactive methods. It is always recommended to enable Google signals.
We checked the website and found that the real-time report is recording data and also showing location, but only when there is an engagement/session on the website.
In addition, I shared the website with my colleagues and found that the data is recorded but takes more time to populate.
Conclusion: after our research, we can say that the real-time report for engaged users populates the data. However, the numbers of the first user source are not recorded.
Although the tag is triggered, the problem lies in the implementation of the tag on the website, which means that the direct first users are not recorded. Therefore, we recommend the customer contact their web developer and fix the invalid or missing account ID issue.”
So it’s up to WordPress. Something is messing things up. Could it also be the WP Rocket plugin? If so, is there a solution to this?
