Google Maps not showing until you accept

Hi @webittest,

Please note that blocking the Google Map before consent is obtained is the intended behavior (it’s only missing the “placeholder” at the moment, so currently, some white-space appears before obtaining consent).

In any case: you should be able to allow the Map without obtaining any consent, by additionally disabling the Advanced Custom Fields integration under Complianz > Integrations > Plugins.

Kind regards, Jarno

Hi,

I just tested this and the map is still not coming through (also I deleted the cache). How come there is no placeholder coming through?

Hi @webittest,

The change has already taken effect on the version of the site “without WP Rocket”, so you will likely have to purge cache in WP Rocket as well.

Or do you want to keep blocking it, and add a placeholder before consent is obtained?

Kind regards, Jarno

Hi,

I see it’s working now. We will leave it like this for the moment.
But how can we make the placeholder work in the future?

Hi @webittest,

It depends on what the class name of the <div> element containing the blocked Map is. In your case the classname is map, so you could use the below set-up under Complianz > Integrations > Script Center > Block a script, iFrame or plugin to block the map and add a placeholder to that class.

Hi,

Thanks, I will test that in the future.
Great support!

Hi @webittest,

Sure, do note that the “placeholder class” and “URL to block” will likely differ when you’re using a different Map plugin.

We’re always happy to help though: so feel free to send us a message via support(at)complianz.io if you need help adding a placeholder, when the time comes.

Kind regards, Jarno
