google not indexing our site because of robots.txt file?

[ad_1]

Hello,

When I google our site, I get “No information is available for this page.”
When i dig deeper it says that the robots.txt file is blocking the page.  But when I use the robots.txt validator to find out which rule is blocking our page, I get no errors.
The robots txt file is only made up of:
**User-agent: \***
**Disallow: /**
So I’m not sure what the issue is.
We are using Yoast SEO and all seems to check out correctly there.
Any suggestions as to how to make this get indexed?
thank you,
Matt

  1. The robots.txt is telling Google to not crawl any pages.

The star indicates all crawlers are not allowed

The Google search crawler has to be set to allow in the robots.txt

  2. Your robots.txt is telling all bots to not visit any pages on your site, so that would be expected.

Do you still have the Settings >> Reading >> discourage search engines from indexing this site checked?
