Google Search results issue

[ad_1]

Hey all. Looking for some help.

My client had an existing url and squarespace site which needed to remain live during dev of the wp site.

i developed on a temp url on new server and after build out converted the temp url to the existing url and changed the dns in the host settings to point to the new server.

my issue is, google is still serving the old squarespace site. typing the url into the address bar pulls the new site but search results have not changed.

its been almost a month now and i have requested a re-index of the site thru search console.

any ideas?

  1. Use the Inspect URL function in GSC to ensure that google is seeing the new site. If it isn’t seeing the site, then your dns change wasn’t done correctly.

GSC will also tell you when the page was last indexed and if there are any problems with it.
