Having trouble customizing homepage

Hey there

My homepage settings are set to a static page I created. However, the theme’s default homepage/Front Page template is the only thing that is visible, despite the fact that I’ve set the homepage settings to a page that has a custom template.

How can I set my homepage to a custom page I’ve made, without the Front Page template taking over?
