Wanted to start a discussion on Headless WP here.
Please share any resources, thoughts, etc you have on it.
I have an enterprise client with 500k visitors per month on WP. Sometime in the next two years, we’re going to be making the transition to Headless with a Next.js frontend. Frankly, I’m out of my element here. I’m not sure if it’s worth learning all of that / all of this to continue keeping them.
There’s a Headless Discord channel, Headless Slack channel, and WP Engine seems to be leading the charge with a lot of resources. Faust.js seems like the thing currently. I can share invite links to any of these if people are interested.
How important is Headless going to be in the next 3/5/10 years? Is it really just for specific use-cases, larger websites, or will WordPress eventually evolve be able to replace what it does in its own way altogether?
