Hello friends, I’m a web developer interested in learning WordPress for freelance work. How hard would it be to adjust to developing with it?

^Basically what the title says. Sorry if this kind of post is frowned upon!

I’m a web developer and know HTML/CSS/JS/Java. I’m interested in learning WordPress to build a website for a family member who runs a small business so that she doesn’t have to use sites like Squarespace.

So my question is, will I be able to quickly pick up and adjust a website to WordPress? I don’t have a lot of time and she doesn’t want me to drop everything to learn a new process if it’s going to take a long time. Thanks!

  1. I have intro level class knowledge of the languages you mentioned and I picked up wordpress easy peasy, even have to use a bit of css and html on nearly every build to accomplish things the theme builders won’t allow.

It’s basically a very user friendly WSIWYG drag/drop builders that relies heavily on plugins for functionality
