I hired a developer from Fiverr and they’re literally the best. the issue is that they’re up when I’m asleep so we only get to communicate once a day. the site’s done and they’ve shown it to me through dreamhosters
what i need to know is what should i ask from them so i can have everything i need to attach my site to the domain? any specific files? login information?
i have a WordPress account but I’m still new to it so anybody who can give insight I’d appreciate it
If they’re continuing to host it on dreamhosters:
You’ll need the nameservers or A record from the developer so that you can point your domain to dreamhosters, from there the developer should take care of updating the database and WordPress to reflect the new domain.
If you’re hosting the site yourself through a different hosting service, or your own dreamhosters account:
You’ll need the website files and a copy of the database. You can then upload these to your hosting account.
The WordPress account you have signed up for is likely for WordPress.com, whereas the site is likely WordPress.org. A little confusing but they are very different. So you probably won’t need that account.
