Help Brining local to live via flywheel local

[ad_1]

Hello,

I am using the wpbeginner tutorial but it is already off, right now I have the flywheel local db exported to my desktop and have a bluehost cpanel subscribe.

The public html folder under file manager already has copy of wordpress there and there is a database there as well that came with the purchase.

Where do I send my exported database next?

  1. You import the sql file over the top of the existing BH db. You may need to drop the existing tables first.

  2. To bring your local website to live via Flywheel Local, you will need to import your exported database into your live website’s database on Bluehost. Here are the steps to do that:

Log in to your Bluehost cPanel and navigate to the “MySQL Databases” section.

Create a new database and a user with full privileges for that database. Make sure to note down the database name, user name, and password.

Go back to your local website in Flywheel Local, and export your local database. This can be done by going to “Local” > “Databases” and then clicking on the “Export” button for your local website’s database.

Open the exported SQL file in a text editor, and replace all instances of the local website’s URL with your live website’s URL. This can be done by doing a find and replace for “http://localhost” or “http://127.0.0.1” with your live website’s URL.

Next, connect to your live website’s database via phpMyAdmin. You can do this by clicking on the “phpMyAdmin” button in your Bluehost cPanel.

Inside phpMyAdmin, select the live website’s database and then click on the “Import” tab.

In the “File to import” section, click on the “Choose file” button and select the modified exported SQL file from your local website.

Click on the “Go” button to start the import process.

Once the import process is completed, you should now have your local website’s content and settings on your live website.

Finally, you will have to update the wp-config.php file on your live website with the correct database name, user name, and password.

Please keep in mind that, if you have any issues with this process, it is highly recommended to contact Bluehost technical support for more help.
