I bought a domain through Godaddy. People said “Godaddy sucks, use WordPress for hosting.” So, I “transferred” or whatever to wordpress for hosting, paid $100 for a plan. Next I start to build the site and immediately wordpress began to shake me down for $200 more if I want to use Plugins.
A little research informed me of a difference in the [wordpress.com](https://wordpress.com) and .org. which i guess i got wrong.
in the most comprehensive way possible, could someone point me in the right direction. I have the tech capacity of a retired farmer and i need help pretty bad. All I want to do is start a website. The entire internet tells me how simple it is. but they LIE.
