Hey folks. I’ve a workflow problem which appears to be specific to Windows and was wondering if somebody with more experience using WordPress via this platform can help me. In a nutshell:
I‘ve put together a single page site in order to display competition scores at our club throughout the day. The idea is that the non-technical guys in the office can copy a section of their scoring spreadsheet and then paste it into a post on the office computer. A Raspberry Pi in kiosk mode at the other end of the clubhouse then refreshes that page every 10 seconds onto a big screen.
I’m a Mac user and when I run through this workflow at home it works flawlessly, but the Windows computer in the office seems unable to paste Excel’s structure into the WP editor – you just get the numbers and not the table. As an interim we’ve taken to pasting a screen-grab image instead, but the quality is rubbish, refreshing takes ages (we’re on a super slow connection) and the media library fills up with interim images.
Anybody else come across this challenge? What I’m after is an improved way of copying and pasting from Excel into WP on Windows. The users are non-technical so I’m not after something with too many moving parts like a data connector or a complicated plugin. If there’s a one-stop Windows app / browser plug-in that would improve copy & paste then that might be viable, but honestly … why can’t it “just work’ ?!?
Mini rant over. Thanks in advance for any assistance!
