It sounds like the site’s owner gave you a Subscriber account, not an Admin account.
If you need an Admin account, you’ll need to contact this David and ask him to promote your account.
To be clear, WordPress sites are entirely self-contained. We have no more access than any normal visitor, nor do we want any, so this is up to the site’s owner to address.
Ok thanks. Wasn’t sure if there was a way to send from the system to guide him but I’ll share the subscriber vs admin note to him to try to help show him how to upgrade my access. It might be something he can forward to the team that helped build his site. Thanks for your help.
