Hi all, I just got a WordPress designer job and I’m still in trial. I’ve successfully completed tasks involving CSS and HTML but PHP is not my strength. I don’t even know what the codes in the screenshot mean or how to fix the issue. Please can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

  1. Damn near every user facing WordPress request first starts with index.php. What are their expectations?

  2. of course it’s getting hammered with calls, it’s the f’ing index file. It’d be weird if it wasn’t on any medium to high trafic site.

    Is there any actual issue?

  3. Maybe block bots and countries you don’t need traffic from that typically spam a lot. Block /wpadmin and /wp-login. I worked for someone who looked at their cloudflare every day and thought every visit and request was a person, not a collection of people, bots, hacks, and crawlers. This sounds like it could be something like that, someone who is calling visits a call, and they don’t know that websites get traffic all day from crawlers and non-humans which loads the index file.

  4. ChatGPT is your best help here. Newbie, No Coders and advanced coders use AI code assist now. Don’t be left out. It can even ELI5 the concepts you don’t understand.

  5. It’s okay. That’s like saying “the front door of a shopping center sees a lot of people coming in” haha that’s where everything begins and then roots out
