  1. The key phrase you’re looking for is WHOIS protection. This means none of your personal information is tied to the domain (although you obviously will need to give your details to the registrar themselves).

    Most reputable domain name registrars provide this for free by default.

  2. Most gTLD’s support whois privacy, WordPress offers whois privacy at no extra charge provided you are not registering a TLD that doesn’t allow whois privacy. The normal TLDs like .com, .org, and .net do not restrict whois privacy, the .us ccTLD does however.

    gTLD: generic Top Level Domain
    ccTLD: country code Top Level Domain

    Look up the registry for the domain you want and check their rules for whois privacy.
